Autonomy

The detectors function with piles or batteriesfor an autonomy ranging between 10:00 and60 H according to the device.




Compensation of the ground effects (Groundbalances GEB)

It makes it possible to reduce the effects of theground (mineralisation, wet ground, sand,stones…).



Discrimination

Discrimination makes it possible to eliminatecertain types of metals during research. Theprospectors eliminate mainly iron to keep onlynobler metals. The device will not seekwhereas targeted metals.


Disc

It can be also called head, winds, stove orantenna. The disc is the end of the detector inwhich windings are which allow the sending ofthe signals towards the device during theprospection. According to the detectors, it ispossible to change the disc in order to targetresearch (small discs for more precision andlarge discs for more depth). The discs canhave various forms:




Concentric/Hollow:

 standard disc of round formwhich equips the majority with the detectors.

Elliptic:

 Oval and narrow, it makes it possibleto cover a vaster zone on the ground and to more easily prospect in the furrows, betweenthe trees, the recesses…

Double D (DD):

Called thus because the tworeels are stuck one to the other by forming adouble D. configuration DD gets more a great depth of detection and better performances byreducing the harmful effect of a very mineral-bearing ground and the interferences by salt water. The field of detection long and narrowgets a large cover of ground while keeping anexcellent sensitivity to the small targets.

Dynamics

The dynamic system is an operating processof the detector during which the disc of thedetector must be moving compared to thetarget.



Ground effects (Ground)

The ground effects are interferences causedby various natures of the ground whichgenerate false signals and make “page” thedetector.



Frequency

It is the work frequency of the detector.Indeed, the detector sends a frequency in theground in order to detect the objects there. Itshould be known that the detectors very high frequency are better for the target detectionsmall. Certain detectors are multifrequency.



Pulsated induction or Pulsates Induction (pi):

The detectors with pulsated induction do not use that only one winds and are specifically designed to offer performances while beinginsensitive with the ground effects. They are recommended for the prospection in seasideand research under navy.


Multi-tonalities

The multi-tone mode makes it possible to distinguish various types of targets according to their metal nature which are identified by adifferent sound.



Notch

The notch is an additional function with thediscrimination which enables you to select a kind of metal with the exlusion of others.


Pinpoint

The pinpoint makes it possible to locate thetarget precisely. It functions in mode all metalswhatever the selected level of discrimination.


Depth

The depth is an approximate data to which thetarget is which can be indicated or notaccording to the detector.



To prospect

To locate a target in the ground, the disc mustbe put above ground in a back and forth pass,called sweeping. Not to lose depth ofdetection, the head must skim the ground andnot be raised.


Protect disc

Disc protects adapts on the disc to protect itfrom the shocks and stripes when you to prospect. The warranty period of the discsbeing lower than that of the detectors, it is advised to use one protects disc.



Sensitivity

The button of governed sensitivity power of thedevice. For a better power, the sensitivity thusshould be increased all while adjusting it in order to eliminate the noises (ex: sizzlings orcracklings, caused by various natures of theground).

Statics

It is about an operating process of the detectorwhich makes it possible to target the objectwithout having to sweep the ground with thedisc. This system develops a good power ofdetection but on the other hand gets acompensation of the ground effects lesspowerful than a dynamic detector.
