It makes it possible to reduce the effects of theground (mineralisation, wet ground, sand,stones…).
Discrimination makes it possible to eliminatecertain types of metals during research. Theprospectors eliminate mainly iron to keep onlynobler metals. The device will not seekwhereas targeted metals.
It can be also called head, winds, stove orantenna. The disc is the end of the detector inwhich windings are which allow the sending ofthe signals towards the device during theprospection. According to the detectors, it ispossible to change the disc in order to targetresearch (small discs for more precision andlarge discs for more depth). The discs canhave various forms:
standard disc of round formwhich equips the majority with the detectors.

Double D (DD):

It is the work frequency of the detector.Indeed, the detector sends a frequency in theground in order to detect the objects there. Itshould be known that the detectors very high frequency are better for the target detectionsmall. Certain detectors are multifrequency.
Pulsated induction or Pulsates Induction (pi):
The detectors with pulsated induction do not use that only one winds and are specifically designed to offer performances while beinginsensitive with the ground effects. They are recommended for the prospection in seasideand research under navy.
The multi-tone mode makes it possible to distinguish various types of targets according to their metal nature which are identified by adifferent sound.
The notch is an additional function with thediscrimination which enables you to select a kind of metal with the exlusion of others.
The pinpoint makes it possible to locate thetarget precisely. It functions in mode all metalswhatever the selected level of discrimination.
The depth is an approximate data to which thetarget is which can be indicated or notaccording to the detector.
To locate a target in the ground, the disc mustbe put above ground in a back and forth pass,called sweeping. Not to lose depth ofdetection, the head must skim the ground andnot be raised.
Disc protects adapts on the disc to protect itfrom the shocks and stripes when you to prospect. The warranty period of the discsbeing lower than that of the detectors, it is advised to use one protects disc.
